Description
Lewis' slender pinjalo is a snapper (Lutjanidae) from reef and coastal water of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 40 cm and has an elongate, red-pink to silvery body with a deeply forked tail. As a schooling fish it swims above deeper reef and rock slopes and hunts small fish, crustaceans and zooplankton. It is a valued food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
