Description
The goldflag jobfish is a snapper (Lutjanidae) from deeper coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific. The species grows to about 45 cm and has a streamlined, red-silver body with yellowish markings and a conspicuously yellow-marked upper tail lobe. As a bottom-oriented predator it lives above deeper rocky and coral reefs and hunts small fish, crustaceans and squid. It is a valued food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
