Description
The Saulosi is an mbuna cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi in East Africa. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a stocky, bright blue with dark crossbars in males, bright orange in females and juveniles body. As a territorial rock-dweller it grazes the algal mat from stones and snaps at small invertebrates among the growth. It is a mouthbrooder: the female broods the eggs and young in her mouth. The fish is harmless to humans.
