Description

The Tumba lamprologus is a small cichlid from fresh water of the Congo basin in Central Africa, around Lake Tumba. The species grows to about 9 cm and has a slender, light-brown body. As a bottom-dweller it lives in bank zones and among roots and stones of rivers and lakes and hunts small invertebrates and larvae. It is a substrate brooder that deposits eggs in cavities. The fish is harmless to humans.
