Description
Abeele's cichlid is a cichlid from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa, recently placed in the genus Greenwoodochromis. The species grows to about 24 cm and has an elongate, greyish body with large eyes, adapted to the deeper, dim water. As a bottom-oriented hunter it lives over soft bottoms and searches for small invertebrates and small fish. It is a mouthbrooder. The fish is harmless to humans.
