Description
The harrowed sole is a tongue-shaped flatfish from the northwest Pacific, off China and Korea. The species grows to about 27 cm and has an oblong, strongly flattened body with a pattern of dark cross-bars and continuous fin margins merging with the tail. As a bottom-dweller it lies half-buried in sand and mud bottoms of shallow coastal water to about 40 metres and hunts small worms and crustaceans. It is a local food fish. The IUCN has not evaluated the species.
