Description
The eyespot sole is a small sole (Soleidae) from shallow coastal and estuarine water of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 10 cm and has a flattened, oval, brown-speckled body with both eyes on the right side and often an eyespot on the upper side. As a bottom-dweller it lies buried on sand and mud bottoms and snaps at small worms and crustaceans. The fish is harmless to humans.
