Description
The slender eelblenny is an elongate prickleback (Stichaeidae) from cold coastal waters of the northern Pacific and Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. The species grows to about 37 cm and has a strongly elongate, eel-like, pale-brown body with a long, continuous dorsal fin. As a bottom-dweller it shelters on sand and mud bottoms, sometimes half-buried, and snaps at small crustaceans, worms and molluscs. The fish is harmless to humans.
