Description
The slender deepwater flounder is a flatfish (Bothidae) of deeper coastal and slope waters of the western Atlantic. The species grows to about 15 cm and has an exceptionally thin, elongate, pale-brown body with both eyes on the left side and a strongly reduced lower pectoral fin. As a bottom-dweller of soft deeper bottoms it lies buried and snaps at small crustaceans and worms. The fish is harmless to humans.
