Description
Asaeda's flounder is a small left-eyed flatfish from the western Pacific, around Japan and surroundings. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a thin, strongly asymmetric flatfish body with both eyes on the left side and a conspicuously long pectoral fin on the eyed side. As a bottom-dweller it lives buried on soft bottoms of the deeper coastal sea and hunts small bottom animals. The fish is harmless to humans and has not been evaluated by the IUCN (NE).
