Description
The slender croaker is a croaker (Sciaenidae) from the eastern Pacific. The species has an elongate, silvery body with small chin barbels and can make drumming sounds with its swim bladder. It inhabits sandy coasts, bays, estuaries, river mouths and coastal lagoons. As a bottom hunter it feeds on small crustaceans, worms and molluscs. It is a food fish. The species is harmless to humans.
