Description
Regan's cichlid is a cichlid from fresh water of southern Mexico and adjacent Central America. The species grows to about 20 cm and has a deep, grey-green body with dark crossbars and glittering spots. As a bottom-oriented fish it searches among stones and roots of flowing rivers for insect larvae, molluscs, small fish and plant material. It is a caring substrate brooder. The fish is harmless to humans.
