The Redlip krib is a krib cichlid (Cichlidae) from slow-flowing forest streams and rivers of western Africa around Guinea. The species grows to about 8 cm and has an elongate body; in breeding dress the female colours a vivid purple-red belly and the male shows blue and yellow tints. As a bottom-oriented fish it searches among roots, leaf litter and sand for small invertebrates. It is a caring cave brooder. The fish is harmless to humans.
