Description

The Blackfin morid cod is a morid cod (Moridae) of sand and mud bottoms of the continental slope in the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 25 cm and has an elongate, grey-brown body with large eyes, a chin barbel and long dorsal and anal fins. As a slow bottom-dweller of deeper, cold water it searches just above the sediment for small crustaceans, worms and small fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
