Description
Nyerere's victoria cichlid is a small, colourful cichlid from Lake Victoria in East Africa, often placed in the genus Pundamilia. The species grows to about 8 cm; males are bright red and yellow with black vertical bars, females grey-yellow. As a rock-dweller it lives along the shallow, rocky shore zone and eats zooplankton and small invertebrates. It is a mouthbrooder. The fish is harmless to humans and is known from the aquarium trade.
