Description
The Lucalla cichlid is a cichlid from fresh water of river systems in Angola, in southwestern Africa. The species grows to about 12 cm and has an elongate, laterally compressed body with a metallic sheen; courting males colour up more vividly with blue and reddish tints. As a bottom-oriented fish it lives among stones and plants and eats small invertebrates, algae and detritus. It is a mouthbrooder. The fish is harmless to humans.
