Description
Kami's perchlet is a small perchlet (Serranidae) from deeper reef and rocky water of the western Pacific. The species grows to about 10 cm and has a stocky, red-blotched body with large eyes and a large mouth. As a bottom-oriented fish it perches motionless on coral, rock and rubble of deeper reefs and darts out at small crustaceans and small fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
