Description
The brownbarred perchlet is a small perchlet (Serranidae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 4 cm and has a stocky, red-brown barred body and large eyes. As a secretive bottom-dweller it lives in crevices and holes of coral and rocky reefs to about sixty-five metres deep and snaps at small zooplankton and crustaceans. The fish is harmless to humans.
