Description
The imposter fangblenny is a sabretooth blenny (Blenniidae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a slender body with blue longitudinal lines; it mimics cleaner wrasses to approach unsuspecting fish. From there it quickly nips off a piece of fin, scale or skin mucus and darts away. In the lower jaw it bears two large, grooved canine teeth; the bite can deliver venom. Handle with care.
