Description
The fivelined threadfin bream is a threadfin bream (Nemipteridae) from coastal waters of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 23 cm and has an elongate, red-pink body with yellow longitudinal lines and a thread-like elongate upper tail lobe. As a bottom-oriented predator it lives over sand and mud bottoms of the continental margin and hunts small fish, crustaceans and worms. It is a food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
