Description
The doublewhip threadfin bream is a threadfin bream from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 20 cm and has a streamlined, rosy-red body with yellow tints and a greatly elongated, thread-like upper tail lobe and first dorsal-fin rays. As a near-bottom fish it lives over sand and mud bottoms of the continental shelf to about 75 metres and hunts small crustaceans, worms and fish. It is a commercial food fish. The IUCN assesses the species as Least Concern (LC).
