Description
The curlfin sole is a flatfish (Pleuronectidae) from cold coastal waters of the northeast Pacific, off the west coast of North America. The species grows to about 37 cm and has a deep, nearly round, strongly flattened, brown body with both eyes on the right side; the front dorsal rays curl around the head onto the blind side. As a bottom-dweller it lies half-buried on sand and mud bottoms and snaps at small worms and crustaceans. The fish is harmless to humans.
