Description
The adorned fairy wrasse is a small, colourful wrasse (Labridae) from the eastern Indian Ocean, off Sumatra. The species grows to about 6 cm; males are bright red to purple-pink with yellow tones and flush even brighter in courtship, while females are plainer. As a reef-dweller it hovers above coral rubble and slopes and picks small zooplankton. The fish is harmless to humans and is loved in the aquarium trade.
