Description

The Whitetail gregory is a damselfish (Pomacentridae) from reef water of the eastern Pacific, off Mexico. The species grows to about 13 cm and has a deep, laterally compressed, dark-brown with a whitish tail body. As a fiercely territorial bottom-dweller it defends an algal garden on rocks and coral against intruders and eats algae, detritus and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
