Description
The saw dwarf loach is a loach (Cobitidae) from blackwater streams and peat swamps of Sundaland in Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 5 cm and has a slender, elongate, yellow-brown body with fine markings, barbels around the mouth and a small, erectable eye spine. As a bottom-dweller it roots through soft sand and leaf litter searching for small invertebrates and detritus. The fish is harmless to humans.
