Description
The rapid gudgeon is a small cyprinid (Gobionidae) from fast-flowing, clear fresh water of East Asia. The species grows to about 6 cm and has a slender, silver-brown body with a row of dark spots, an inferior mouth with fleshy lips and a pair of short barbels. As a bottom-dweller it searches over sand and gravel of flowing water for insect larvae, small invertebrates and biofilm. The fish is harmless to humans.
