Description

The Fea's osteobrama is a cyprinid (Cyprinidae) from fresh water of Myanmar in Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 20 cm and has a deep, strongly laterally compressed, silvery body with a sharp belly edge and a small mouth. As a schooling fish it swims in rivers, lakes and reservoirs and eats algae, plant material, insect larvae and small zooplankton. It is a valued food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
