Description

The coral demoiselle is a small reef fish (Pomacentridae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a brown-grey body with a yellow tail base and tail and thread-like elongate rear dorsal rays. As a reef-dweller it lives in groups around coral and rocky reefs and in turbid coastal waters and eats zooplankton and algae. The fish is harmless to humans.
