Description

The green neon rasbora is a tiny cyprinid (Danionidae) from fast-flowing streams of Myanmar and Thailand in Southeast Asia. The species grows to only about 2 cm and has a slender body with a conspicuous green-yellow, neon-like sheen. As a schooling fish it swims in clear, oxygen-rich water among water plants and eats minute zooplankton and larvae. The fish is harmless to humans and is popular in the aquarium trade.
