Description
The morid cod is a deep-sea cod (Moridae) from the deep waters of the ocean. The species has an elongate body with a large head, large eyes and a feeler-like pelvic fin. It lives bottom-bound in or near crevices of rocky deepwater habitats on the continental slope. As a bottom hunter it feeds on small crustaceans, worms and small fishes. The species is harmless to humans.
