Description
The Iridescent glassy perchlet is a glassfish (Ambassidae) from slow-flowing streams, pools and estuaries of Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 7 cm and has a deep, laterally compressed, almost transparent body through which the backbone and organs are visible. As a social fish it stays in schools among water plants and snaps at small plankton, mosquito larvae and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
