Description

Fuelleborn's labeo is a cyprinid (Cyprinidae) from East Africa. The species has a streamlined body with an inferior, fleshy sucker mouth with horny edges, with which it scrapes the growth layer from the bottom. It lives on the bottom and is found both near the shores and in open water. Stomach analyses show mud and plant remains; it seems to feed mainly on aufwuchs and plants, possibly supplemented with detritus. Owing to a lack of data the species is regarded as data deficient. It is harmless to humans.
