Description
Dumeril's gudgeon is a cyprinid from rivers and lakes of eastern China. The species grows to about 24 cm and has an elongate, almost cylindrical, silvery body with a row of dark blotches along the flank, an inferior mouth and a pair of barbels. As a bottom-dweller it searches sandy and muddy river stretches for insect larvae, molluscs and detritus. It is a local food fish. The IUCN assesses the species as Least Concern (LC).
