Description
The mud sleeper is a sleeper goby (Eleotridae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species has a stocky, dark-mottled body with a large head and can quickly adapt its colour to the surroundings. It inhabits rivers, estuaries and mangrove creeks, often in brackish tidal water on mud bottoms. As a slow ambush hunter it takes crustaceans and small fishes. The species is harmless to humans.
