Description
The clown barb is a cyprinid (Cyprinidae) from fresh water of Borneo in Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 13 cm and has a stocky, orange-gold body with a few large blue-black blotches and barbels. As a schooling, bottom-oriented fish it lives in clear forest streams and rivers and eats insect larvae, small invertebrates and plant material. The fish is harmless to humans and is popular in the aquarium trade.
