Description
The broadhead torrent catfish is a small torrent catfish (Amblycipitidae) from clear, fast-flowing mountain streams of the eastern Himalaya and adjacent Southeast Asia. The species grows to about 4 cm and has a stocky body with a broad, flattened head, four pairs of barbels and an adipose fin. As a nocturnal bottom-dweller it shelters among stones and gravel of flowing water and searches for insect larvae and small invertebrates. The fish is harmless to humans.
