Description
The stigmate mangrove goby is a small goby (Gobiidae) from shallow, brackish estuarine and mangrove water of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 5 cm and has a slender, brown-speckled body with a dark spot and fused pelvic fins forming a sucker. As a tolerant bottom-dweller of variable-salinity water it sits among roots, weed and mud and snaps at small invertebrates, algae and detritus. The fish is harmless to humans.
