Description
The spotfin corydoras is a small armoured catfish from fresh water of northern South America. The species grows to about 7 cm and has a stocky body covered with two rows of bony plates, a fine dark speckling and short barbels with which it feels for food in the bottom. It schools on sand and mud bottoms of rivers and can breathe air with its gut. It eats small invertebrates and detritus. The fish is popular in the aquarium hobby. The IUCN has not evaluated the species.
