Description

Kennedy's tetra is a small characin (Characidae) from fresh water of the Paraguay-Parana basin in South America. The species grows to about 6 cm and has a deep, silvery body with a dark tail-base spot and a shiny lateral stripe. It lives in schools in slow streams and bank zones and eats small insects, larvae and plant material. The fish is harmless to humans.
