The bluespot demoiselle is a small reef fish (Pomacentridae) from the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 11 cm and has a grey-blue body with fine light-blue spots. Unlike many damsels it lives mainly above open sand and rubble flats near reefs, where it picks zooplankton from the current in loose groups. The fish is harmless to humans.
