Description

The redlip blenny is a blenny (Blenniidae) from the western Atlantic and Caribbean. The species grows to about 12 cm and has a dark, stocky body with a blunt head, conspicuous red lips and comb teeth. As a territorial bottom-dweller it fiercely defends a hole on shallow coral and rocky reefs and rasps algae from the stones. The fish is harmless to humans.
