Description

The species grows to about 10 cm and has a stocky, brownish body with rows of red and blue spots and separate pelvic fins. As a bottom-oriented ambush hunter it shelters among stones, roots and water plants of clear streams and seizes insects, small crustaceans and small fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
