Description
The shortsnout icefish is a small, translucent salt- and brackish-water fish from East Asia, off China and Korea. The species grows to about 7 cm and has a slender, almost colourless, gelatinous body without scales, giving the name 'noodle fish'. It schools in coastal water, estuaries and river mouths and feeds on small zooplankton. Adults die after spawning. It is a local food fish. The IUCN has not evaluated the species.
