Description
The lesser tigertooth croaker is a croaker (Sciaenidae) from coastal waters of the Indo-West Pacific. The species grows to about 39 cm and has an elongate, silvery body and a mouth with two prominent canine teeth in the upper jaw. As a bottom-oriented predator it hunts shrimp and small fish over sand and mud bottoms of shallow coastal water; it drums with the swim bladder. It is a food fish. The fish is harmless to humans.
