Description
The Toothed coralgoby is a very small coralgoby (Gobiidae) from reef water of the western Pacific. The species grows to about 3 cm and has a stocky, greenish to brownish body with fine lines on the head. Characteristically it lives hidden among the branches of living stony coral (Acropora), sheltering almost invisibly among the polyps; its skin secretes a bitter, protective mucus. It snaps at coral mucus and small zooplankton. The fish is harmless to humans.
