The Banner blenny (Emblemaria atlantica) is a saltwater fish of the family Chaenopsidae that grows up to 8 cm.
Description
The banner blenny is a small tube blenny from the western Atlantic, known from Bermuda, Georgia and the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. It grows to about 8 cm and has an elongate, scaleless body without a lateral line; males carry a long cirrus above the eye. In Bermuda it occurs in the intertidal zone, in the United States in deeper water to 110 metres. The fish lives withdrawn in empty worm tubes, from which it picks zooplankton out of the water. The IUCN assesses the species as Least Concern (LC).
