Description
The yellowtail damselfish is a damselfish (Pomacentridae) from the western Pacific. The species is small and stands out by its deep-blue body with a bright-yellow tail. Adults live in small groups on coral-rich parts of sheltered lagoon and inshore reefs, where they stay close to branching coral to shelter quickly. As an omnivore it feeds on algae, small zooplankton and small invertebrates. The species is harmless to humans.
