Description
The footballer demoiselle is a small reef fish (Pomacentridae) from the western Pacific, also placed in the genus Amblypomacentrus. The species grows to about 8 cm and has a whitish body with a few broad, black vertical bars, like a football jersey. As a bottom-bound reef-dweller it lives on sand and rubble bottoms near reefs and eats small invertebrates and algae. It is territorial. The fish is harmless to humans.
