Description

The capro dory is a small deepwater dory (Zeidae relative) from coastal waters around New Zealand and southern Australia. The species grows to about 10 cm and has a deep, strongly compressed, silvery body with large eyes and a far-protrusible mouth. As a dweller of the continental margin it snaps at small zooplankton and small crustaceans. The fish is harmless to humans.
