Description

The vadigo is a fast jack from the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The species grows to about 60 cm and has a streamlined, laterally compressed, silvery body with a blue-green back and a row of yellow, wavy blotches along the flank. As a fast pelagic predator it swims in nearshore open water and hunts small schooling fish. It is a valued sport and food fish. The IUCN assesses the species as Least Concern (LC).
